David Simkins

David Simkins is an American screenwriter and television producer. His first produced screenplay was for the film Adventures in Babysitting in 1987. His career began at the age of 13 in Indiana where he was part of an award-winning television sketch comedy show, Beyond Our Control, produced by high school students. After graduating from the University of Iowa he moved to Los Angeles in 1982 where he worked for New World Pictures helping to produce Stephen King’s Children of the Corn and other films before transitioning to writing full time. He has been an active writer and producer for television since his involvement with The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr. in 1993-1994. He has written scripts for and produced the television shows The Adventures of Lois & Clark, Roswell, Charmed, Blade: The Series, Dark Angel, The Dresden Files, Warehouse 13, and most recently Wu Assassins for Netlix. Alien Raiders, an intense science fiction hostage drama co-written with Julia Fair and directed by Ben Rock, is a cult classic.
